Another day at Sea – another deadly story

Several people have commented that they hoped Jim had a sense of humor – he does.  I have to warn you, I am back to my undertaker humor again.  I think you all know that he is an Episcopal Priest. Years ago, at his very first graveside service, he didn’t realize that Astro Turf was covering the grave opening. Being new to all this, he was intent on his Prayer Book and trying to look properly somber for the occasion. That look quickly vanished  along with him, as he stepped back on the Astro turf, thus beating the dearly departed to his rightful place in the grave – but that’s another story. One of my all time favorite stories of his is - they were having a military burial with quite a crowd in attendance. Sitting on the front row graveside was a little boy and his grandmother. When it came time for the “21 gun” salute, it so startled the grandmother  that she fell off  her chair, at which point the little boy hollered, “ Oh no, now they’ve shot grandma!” You can make this stuff up!
